Pearl Abyss's open-world action RPG, released March 19 2026 on the in-house BlackSpace engine — the same lineage as Black Desert Online, rebuilt over seven years for full ray-traced global illumination at world scale.
How demanding is Crimson Desert?
BlackSpace's per-pixel ray-traced global illumination runs across outdoor and indoor scenes with negligible performance cost — Pearl Abyss claims it rivals Unreal Engine 5's Lumen with noticeably less GPU overhead. PC supports DLSS 4.5 with Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Ray Reconstruction, AMD FSR Redstone with Ray Regeneration, plus Intel XeSS. RT effectively comes free.
What GPU do you need for Crimson Desert?
Our estimates put an RTX 5070 or Radeon RX 9070 XT comfortably above 80 FPS at 1080p; the RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT clears 90 FPS at 1440p with RT on. Native 4K above 60 FPS lands on the RTX 5080; the RTX 5090 pushes past 100 FPS at 4K. BlackSpace's efficiency makes Crimson Desert one of the easiest RT-on workloads at any tier.
